Due to inclement weather, the dedication ceremony scheduled for May 16th began at 3:00 PM. Presented by the St. Bernard–Ludlow Grove Historical Society and hosted by General William H. Lytle Camp 10, Department of Ohio, the event took place in Section 2 of St. John Cemetery.

Held in honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary, the program recognized nine U.S. Army veterans who received military headstones for previously unmarked graves. The ceremony also featured the unveiling of a Civil War headstone for Pvt. William H. Bode, which served as the central focus of the event.
